Kool Kidz Coolaroo has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and inspiring Early Childhood Assistant Centre Manager / Educational Leader to join our team. Play a key role in shaping the culture, pedagogy, and quality of our service.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced early childhood professional who is passionate about leading educators, strengthening practice, and creating an exceptional experience for children and families.
You will work closely with the Approved Provider and Centre Manager, who will be onsite and available to support you. You will also be backed by the wider Kool Kidz Central Support team, providing guidance, resources, and professional development.
About the Role
As Assistant Centre Manager / Educational Leader, you will have a significant influence on the day-to-day quality of education and care at Kool Kidz Coolaroo. You will be responsible for mentoring and inspiring our educators, supporting consistent high-quality practice, and leading continuous improvement across the service.
- Out-of-Ratio Position: This is an out-of-ratio leadership opportunity, providing you with dedicated time to focus on educational leadership, team development, compliance, and quality improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing Educational Leadership & Mentoring
- Lead, mentor, and inspire educators to deliver high-quality early childhood education and care.
- Support educators to reflect on their practice and strengthen their understanding of the EYLF and National Quality Standard.
- Be a visible and approachable role model for best practice.
Operations, Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Work alongside the Centre Manager and Approved Provider to support the effective operation of the service.
- Lead the development, implementation, and review of the service's Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
- Support the service to continuously improve and work towards exceeding the National Quality Standard.
- Support compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Community & Culture
- Run centre tours for new enrolment enquiries and manage the centre’s relationship with existing families.
- Build strong, respectful, and professional relationships with children, families, and the local community.
- Engage positively and professionally with families, responding to their needs with patience and understanding.
- Develop positive and collaborative relationships across the team to contribute to a workplace culture where educators feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow.

Qualifications &
• Experience
- An approved Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or higher.
- Extensive experience working within the Early Childhood Education and Care sector.
- Demonstrated experience in an Educational Leader, Nominated Supervisor, or leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and develop educators.
Knowledge &
• Frameworks
- Strong knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
- Comprehensive understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).
- Knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Child Safe Standards.
Skills &
• Core Traits
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Solid computer literacy and confidence using digital systems.
- The ability to build positive, respectful, and professional relationships with children, families, and educators.
Compliance &
• Certifications
- A current Working with Children Check or VIT registration.
- Current Child Protection training.
- Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis, CPR, and Asthma certification.
- A current driver's licence.
