Details: This is an exciting prospect to contribute to meaningful change for LGBTIQA+ communities in Canberra by supporting inclusive policies and reforms. As Assistant Director in the Office of LGBTIQA+ Affairs, you will play a key role in progressing whole-of-government initiatives that promote inclusion, equity, and wellbeing.

The Office of LGBTIQA+ Affairs provides whole-of-government oversight and strategic advice to the ACT Government on matters affecting LGBTIQA+ communities. The team leads the implementation of the Capital of Equality Strategy 2024–2029, supporting directorates in delivering actions under the Strategy and driving several key initiatives. As a centre of expertise, the team advises across government on legislative reform, policy development, and inclusive service design, ensuring LGBTIQA+ voices and experiences are embedded in decision-making.

The Assistant Director role combines strategic policy development with hands-on delivery of projects under the Capital of Equality Strategy 2024–2029. You will provide high-quality policy advice, coordinate legislative and reform initiatives, manage stakeholder engagement, and support the administration of grants and funding arrangements.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

- Knowledge of issues affecting LGBTIQA+ Canberrans and/or lived experience is essential for this role. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline will be highly regarded.

Note: This is a temporary position available 2 November 2026 for a period of up to 12 months with the possibility of permanency. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. How to Apply: Applicants must submit:
