About the Role,

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable Assistant Store Manager & Gelato Maker to become the owner’s right-hand person. In this role, you will split your time between gelato production and the energy of customer service .You will work independently and alongside the owner to ensure the smooth daily running of the shop, step up to lead when the owner is away, and take pride in preparing both our handcrafted gelato and our coffee menu. No prior gelato-making experience is required—we will fully train the right person with a great attitude!

Key Responsibilities

- Gelato Preparation: Follow recipes to handcraft fresh gelato batches, sorbets, and artisanal inclusions completely from scratch, ensuring strict quality control and kitchen cleanliness.
- Barista & Customer service Pour high-quality espresso, prepare cold drinks, and deliver exceptionally friendly service
- Store Operations: Assist the owner with daily opening/closing procedures, cash drawer reconciliation, and maintaining strict food safety compliance.
- Team Leadership:



Help train junior staff members, manage flow during peak rushes, and keep team morale high.
- Inventory Support: Monitor stock levels of fresh ingredients, dairy, coffee beans, and packaging, assisting the owner with orders.

What We Are Looking For

- Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or a kitchen environment (strong barista skills are highly regarded).
- Experience as a shift supervisor, team leader, or senior staff member is a major plus.
- A genuine passion for artisan food, presentation, and top-tier customer service.
- A proactive, "can-do" attitude—someone who takes initiative in a small business environment.
- Availability to work a flexible roster, including weekends and afternoon/evening shifts. We also have flexibility to have the roster suit certain days off etc
