About the Role An exciting prospect exists to join the team at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Mackay as Assistant OSHC Coordinator. This is a part-time permanent position (18hpw), comprising of before school care, after school care and vacation care, for commencement as soon as possible or as negotiated with the successful applicant.
The Assistant Coordinator is responsible for working closely with the Coordinator to provide programs for children aged 5 – 12 years in Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care.
Typical duties (but not limited to):
- Regularly evaluating the program to ensure it caters for the interests and needs of school age children and meets the requirements of the 'My Time - Our Place' Framework;
- Advising families about the program, policies and procedures when required;
- Where appropriate take on the role of Educational Leader within the service, provide guidance, and support to the team on best practice programming;
- Working in support of the Coordinator on administrative tasks and efficient day to day operation of the service;

The successful applicant will ideally hold a minimum of a Diploma, or be willing to obtain a suitable qualification.

Mandatory Requirements
- A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
- A minimum Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent (ACECQA approved qualifications) is preferred or the willingness to obtain suitable qualifications will also be considered.
- Completion of National Child Protection and Child Safety Training via Geccko platform:
- Foundation of Child Safety Training must be completed prior to commencement
- Willingness to complete Advanced Child Safety Training
- First Aid Certificate, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Training (ACECQA approved)
- It is a requirement of the position that the successful applicants undertake a National Crime Check (Police Check) or provide details of a Police Check that is not more than six months old.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
