GMS Spares is a spare car parts supplier and Automotive mechanic in Sydney. We handle everything from regular maintenance like oil changes and tire rotations to more extensive repairs and diagnostics.

We are currently seeking a qualified Automotive Light Mechanic to work on a Full-time basis to join our team of professionals immediately.

The Role

You will be the responsible for all aspects of vehicles mechanic services on site, including diagnosing, adjusting, repairing and overhauling engines and the mechanical parts of lightweight motor vehicles.

Your daily responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- Mount, balance, change, and check condition or pressure of tires.
- Diagnose engine faults, examine vehicle frames, or confer with customers to determine nature and extent of malfunction or damage.
- Repair or replace body parts, such as headlights, bumpers, panels, window regulators, fuel tanks, or mufflers.
- Dismantle engines and repair or replace defective parts, such as pistons, timing chains, big end bearings, Cams, Injectors.
- Repair or adjust motor sub-assemblies, such as transmissions, differentials, brakes, clutch.




- Connect diagnostic scanners to OBD systems, diagnose fault codes, program modules, carry adaptations and relearn installed parts after the repairs.
- Replace defective parts, using hand tools, hydraulic press, versatile power presses, or power tools.
- Disassemble sub assembly units and examine condition, movement, or alignment of parts, visually or using gauges.
- Interacting with computers and software.

Work Experience and Skills

- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Able to work efficiently with and without supervision;
- Well versed in maintenance, cleaning and debris removal tasks;
- Demonstrated ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
