Pause Button Cafe is a modern specialty cafe in Coomera on the Gold Coast.

We care about good coffee, quality food and genuine hospitality. We believe a great cafe experience comes from attention to detail, teamwork and making every customer feel welcome.

Our team is growing and we are looking for a reliable, experienced Barista / Cafe All Rounder to join us.

About the role

This is more than just making coffee.

You will run the coffee machine to a high standard and also work across all front of house duties. You will work closely with management and the kitchen team to make sure every customer has a great experience.

What you will do

Coffee

- Dial in espresso every morning and keep coffee consistent all day
- Prepare espresso drinks and steam milk to a high standard (latte art preferred)
- Keep coffee quality up during busy periods
- Clean the machine, grinders and coffee station daily

Customer service

- Greet every customer warmly
- Take dine-in and takeaway orders and process payments on the POS
- Build relationships with regulars
- Handle customer concerns professionally

Front of house

- Deliver food and drinks, pack takeaway orders accurately
- Prepare simple drinks
- Opening and closing duties
- Restock the cabinet and drinks fridge
- Keep tables and the dining area clean
- Dishwashing and helping the kitchen when needed

Teamwork

- Communicate clearly during busy service
- Support your team members
- Help keep a positive workplace culture

What you need

Essential

- At least 1 year barista experience on a commercial espresso machine
- Consistent milk texturing




- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Calm under pressure and able to multitask
- Current Australian working rights

Nice to have

- Specialty coffee experience and latte art
- Square POS experience
- Cafe opening and closing experience
- Food preparation experience
- Food Safety Certificate
- RSA

Who we are looking for Someone who loves coffee, enjoys serving people, notices the small details and wants to get better every day. Someone who is honest, dependable and can think ahead without being told.

Attitude matters as much as experience.

Availability

You should be available for a mix of weekdays, weekends and public holidays, including early starts from around 6:00am. Flexibility to cover shifts when needed is a plus.

Physical requirements

This is a hands-on role. You will be on your feet for long periods, lifting up to about 15kg and working at a fast pace.
