Volley Recruit is currently seeking experienced Belt Splicers for upcoming shutdown work at Olympic Dam, on behalf of a recognised client within the mining and industrial sector.

This is a outstanding opportunity for experienced Belt Splicers from anywhere in Australia, with flights provided from your nearest major airport, together with a travel allowance, site accommodation and meals.

Duties May Include

- Conveyor belt installation, replacement and change-outs
- Hot and cold belt splicing and vulcanising
- Steel-cord and fabric belt splicing
- Belt repairs, strip-outs and shutdown maintenance
- Pulley lagging
- Operating vulcanisers and belt-winding equipment
- Inspecting conveyor belts and identifying defects
- Working with fixed-plant conveyor systems
- Completing work safely and efficiently within shutdown schedules
- Following site procedures and maintaining a high standard of workmanship

To Be Considered





- Demonstrated experience in belt splicing and conveyor maintenance
- Experience with steel-cord and fabric conveyor belts
- Experience with belt change-outs, repairs and maintenance
- Experience operating vulcanisers and belt-winding equipment
- Previous mining, fixed-plant or shutdown experience
- Relevant qualifications or trade certification in Polymer Processing, Belt Splicing or a recognised equivalent
- Current White Card
- Current Working at Heights
- Current Confined Space Entry
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening

Highly Regarded

- Steel-cord belt experience
- Previous mining shutdown experience
- Fixed-plant conveyor experience
- Pulley lagging experience
- Experience working on major mining operations
- Previous Olympic Dam or similar mine site experience
