You will work closely with the team to strengthen financial capability, support informed decision-making and contribute to services that make a real difference for the Lake Mac community.

LET’S EXPLORE THE JOB As Budget Officer, you will provide a wide range of financial and business support to the Property and Business Development department. You will help prepare, monitor and analyse budgets, provide projections for Council’s 10-year budget and deliver clear reporting to support budget owners and business sustainability.
Your work will include completing finance reports and budget reviews, supporting financial administration for property purchases, sales and residential rentals and undertaking reconciliations, journal adjustments and financial data analysis as required.

LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU
You are a capable finance professional with strong analytical skills, sound judgement and a commitment to delivering accurate, customer-focused support. You will be confident working independently, communicating complex information clearly and using financial systems and spreadsheets to prepare reports, review data and support budget processes.
You must also meet the following criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications (Cert IV or higher) in accounting,
commerce or finance, or equivalent experience and qualifications in a relevant discipline such as business or management
- Experience and skills in financial management, including extensive knowledge of budgetary procedures and application of accounting standards
- Advanced knowledge of online financial systems and robust experience in developing and utilising spreadsheets
- Ability to work independently with deadlines, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and dealing with confidential information
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex information to a range of audiences
