We’re looking for an experienced and self-driven Business Development Manager to take ownership of our business development function, grow our project pipeline and strengthen our relationships across Sydney’s property and construction industry.

This is not a junior role.

We’re looking for someone who has done this before, understands the industry and can come into the business with the experience and initiative to create their own strategy, goals and KPIs.

Applicants must demonstrate recent experience in construction, property, architecture, design or a closely related industry and must have previously worked in a similar or relevant business development role.

The Role

Your main responsibility will be generating new construction and development opportunities for One Co Building.

You will

- Build and maintain relationships with architects, interior designers, developers, project managers, buyer’s agents, real estate agents and other industry professionals
- Proactively identify upcoming residential construction and development opportunities
- Introduce One Co Building to new architects, designers, developers and potential clients
- Generate qualified leads and turn relationships into genuine project opportunities
- Arrange introductions and meetings with key decision-makers
- Attend industry events, launches, networking functions and meetings
- Develop referral partnerships and strategic industry relationships
- Follow up leads consistently and maintain relationships over the long term
- Maintain and actively manage a pipeline of contacts, leads and upcoming projects
- Research the market and identify current opportunities without waiting for them to come to you
- Work directly with the Director on business development strategy
- Work alongside our marketing team to turn brand awareness and content into genuine enquiries and relationships





Own the Role This is an important part of the position.

We are not looking for someone who needs to be given a daily task list or told who to contact.

We want an experienced BDM who can take ownership of the role and:

- Develop their own business development strategy
- Establish realistic weekly, monthly and quarterly goals
- Create and track their own KPIs
- Build and manage their own prospecting and relationship pipeline
- Identify which people, businesses and industry sectors One Co should be targeting
- Measure what is and isn’t generating opportunities and adjust accordingly
- Regularly report on activity, pipeline, opportunities and results
- Bring new ideas and opportunities to the Director rather than waiting for direction

You will have the freedom to shape the role, but with that freedom comes accountability for results.

Who We’re Looking For

This is a senior, hands-on position and is not suited to someone looking for their first BDM role.

To be considered, you must have:

- Recent experience within construction, property development, architecture, interior design, real estate or a closely related industry
- Previous experience in business development, partnerships, client relationships or a similar commercially focused role
- A demonstrated history of generating new business and building valuable industry relationships
- The ability to work independently and create your own structure, targets and KPIs
- A proactive and self-driven approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence dealing directly with business owners, architects, designers, developers and high-value clients
- Strong follow-up, organisation and pipeline management
- A good understanding of the Sydney property and construction market

An existing network of architects, designers, developers and property professionals will be highly regarded.
