Business Growth Manager - Defence & Security

Location: Canberra or Brisbane, Australia (Approx. 40% travel)

About the Role

Are you ready to shape the future of defence and security across Australia, Recent Zealand, and the Pacific? At Airbus Australia Pacific, we are looking for a Business Growth Manager to join our Sales and Marketing team.

This isn't just about managing a pipeline - it's about owning the complete campaign lifecycle. You will act as a strategic catalyst, turning high-level intent into winning contracts for both Defence Services (sustainment, MRO, and platform support) and cutting-edge Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS).

Working closely with Key Account Managers and global technical teams, you'll lead complex bids, champion local industry capability, and build value propositions that truly resonate with the Australian Department of Defence, the NZDF, and regional security partners.

What You'll Be Doing

- Proactively identify opportunities, shape competitive win strategies, and build a qualified, multi-year pipeline across ANZ.
- Take full ownership of complex tender responses (RFIs/RFPs), pitches, and capability demonstrations from concept through to contract conversion.
- Leverage your established network across Defence procurement and capability domains to map customer gaps into compliant, trusted solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive teams, maintain CRM accuracy in Salesforce,



and step in for the Head of Business Development during key engagements or periods of leave.
- Guide multi-disciplinary teams across legal, commercial, and engineering fields to construct winning, multi-year service and support proposals.

What We're Looking For

- 8+ years in business development, sales, or commercial roles ideally within aerospace or defence.
- Proven, credible relationships within the Australian and New Zealand Defence ecosystems (procurement and capability areas).
- Deep understanding of Defence market timelines, procurement processes, and frameworks like ASDEFCON.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional, multi-cultural teams and drive projects forward in a matrix organisation.
- Solid grounding in building business cases, developing pricing strategies, and negotiating complex support and training contracts.
- A degree in Aviation, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
