Synopsis Business Events Officer
- Part-Time position – 15.2 hours per week
- Fixed-Term Contract ending 31st December 2028.
- $40.34 per hour + superannuation
Wodonga Council is seeking a Business Events Officer to coordinate business engagement initiatives that support investment attraction, industry collaboration and economic growth. Working within the City Growth and Communications team, you'll help connect businesses, industry, government and regional partners through events, networking opportunities and engagement activities that strengthen Wodonga's reputation as a thriving regional city. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and relationship-focused professional who enjoys working with people, coordinating events and contributing to positive economic outcomes for the community.
Key Aspects Of The Role
- Bring the business community together Coordinate a diverse range of networking events, industry forums, business briefings and engagement activities that create opportunities for businesses, industry leaders and stakeholders to connect, collaborate and share ideas. You'll play an important role in strengthening relationships across Wodonga's business community and supporting initiatives that encourage growth and innovation.
- Deliver events that make an impact Manage the planning and delivery of business events from concept to completion, including coordinating venues, suppliers, registrations, communications and event logistics. You'll help create professional and engaging experiences that provide value to attendees and enhance Council's reputation as a proactive and connected partner to business.
- Build strong business and stakeholder relationships Develop productive relationships with local businesses, industry groups, government agencies and regional organisations. By understanding stakeholder needs and maintaining robust connections, you'll help identify opportunities for collaboration and support initiatives that deliver positive outcomes for the business community.
- Support initiatives that drive economic growth Contribute to projects and engagement activities that promote investment, support local business growth and showcase Wodonga as a thriving regional city. Through business engagement, stakeholder collaboration and the delivery of high-quality events, you'll help strengthen business confidence and contribute to the city's long-term economic prosperity.
What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Experience coordinating events, stakeholder engagement activities or business development initiatives.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with businesses, industry and community stakeholders.
- Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines and competing priorities.
- Experience coordinating event logistics, suppliers and operational requirements to deliver professional outcomes.
- Initiative, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality stakeholder experiences.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in Business, Event Management, Marketing, Communications or a related discipline
