About the role

We are seeking an experienced Business Services Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of business clients and play a key role in the continued growth of our firm. This is a hands-on leadership position, ideal for an experienced accountant who is ready to take the next step in their career, working closely with our Directors to deliver high-quality compliance and advisory services while mentoring and developing our team.

We are also seeking a motivated Senior Accountant to assist with the management of portfolio of business clients and deliver high-quality tax and accounting compliance services with a genuine business advisory focus. This is a great opportunity for an experienced accountant to broaden their advisory exposure, take on greater client responsibility and progress their career within a supportive and growing firm.

Key responsibilities

- Manage and grow a diverse portfolio of business clients across a range of industries
- Oversee and review the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Manage clients' GST, BAS/IAS, FBT and other statutory compliance obligations
- Provide proactive business advisory services, including tax planning, structuring, budgeting and cash flow advice
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, acting as their key point of contact
- Manage WIP, job budgets and billing for your client portfolio
- Identify opportunities to add value and introduce additional services to clients
- Support the Directors with client meetings, proposals and broader practice development initiatives
- Ensure all work complies with professional standards and the firm's quality control procedures

About you





- Minimum 5 years' experience in public practice accounting, ideally within a business advisory-focused firm
- CA or CPA qualified
- Strong technical knowledge of taxation law, accounting standards and compliance requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing a client portfolio and supervising staff
- Proficient with Xero and other cloud accounting and tax software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive and solutions-focused, with strong commercial acumen
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
- A genuine team player who enjoys working in a team environment
