About the role

Little Gordon Café is looking for a passionate, hands-on Café Manager to take ownership of day-to-day café operation and help build the next chapter of Little Gordon. Located within Little Gordon House in Melbourne's CBD, the café serves a mix of accommodation guests, city workers, locals and visitors with a focus on excellent coffee, quality food, genuine hospitality and creating the kind of neighbourhood café people want to return to. Reporting to the General Manager of Little Gordon House, you will be responsible for leading the café operation and contributing to its commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

- Lead the day-to-day café operation and team

- Deliver consistently excellent coffee, food and service

- Roster and manage labour efficiently

- Order, manage stock and control waste

- Maintain presentation,



cleanliness and food safety standards

- Grow morning commuter and accommodation breakfast trade

- Build a stronger lunch following amongst surrounding CBD businesses

- Develop relationships with local businesses and identify catering opportunities

- Manage costs and contribute to overall commercial performance of the café

- Support the future development of Little Gordon's evening pre-theatre wine, cocktail and small-plates offer

About you

- Previous café or hospitality management experience

- Strong barista skills

- Hands-on leadership style

- Good understanding of labour, food cost, stock and café profitability
