About the role

Boutique Caravans is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Caravan Quality Control Inspector to join our team in Epping, VIC. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring every caravan that leaves our facility meets our exacting standards for safety, functionality, and craftsmanship.

As Quality Control

Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections throughout the manufacturing and assembly process, identifying defects, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and our quality standards. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence will be instrumental in maintaining Boutique Caravans' reputation for delivering premium, reliable caravans to our customers.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct thorough inspections of caravans at various stages of manufacturing, including structural integrity, electrical systems, plumbing, appliances, and interior finishes
- Perform pre-delivery inspections to verify that all components are functioning correctly and meet safety and quality specifications
- Document inspection findings using quality control checklists and reporting systems, maintaining detailed records of any defects or non-conformities identified
- Communicate quality issues to production supervisors and relevant team members, providing clear feedback on required remedial actions
- Test and validate the operation of all caravan systems, including water systems, gas appliances, electrical systems, brakes, and suspension
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian standards, safety regulations, and manufacturer specifications throughout the inspection process
- Collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions and process improvements based on inspection data




- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to workplace health and safety protocols at all times
- Assist in training and mentoring production staff on quality standards and best practices

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Quality Control Inspector, preferably within the caravan, RV, automotive, or similar manufacturing industry
- Strong knowledge of relevant Australian Standards (AS/NZS) and safety regulations applicable to caravan manufacturing and construction
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, and deviations from specifications
- Proficiency in using quality control tools, measuring instruments, and inspection equipment
- Competence with digital documentation and reporting systems, and computer literacy
- Sound understanding of caravan systems including electrical, plumbing, gas, and structural components
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with production teams and management
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain consistent inspection standards
- Physical capability to move around manufacturing areas, climb, bend, and reach when conducting inspections
- A valid driver's licence and willingness to perform test drives if required
- Preferred experience with caravan-specific quality assurance or previous work in the RV or marine leisure industry
