Female Disability Support Worker – Morning Shifts | Penrith

Riverlands Disability Support is looking for a reliable, down-to-earth and genuinely personable Female Disability Support Worker to support a male participant in the Penrith area.

This is a morning position, 6:30am–10:30am, and we are looking for someone who is more than just a good support worker, we are looking for someone who is the right personality fit for our participant.

About the Participant

Our participant is looking for someone who is:

- Funny and enjoys a good laugh
- Mature and ideally older/more experienced
- Down-to-earth, relaxed and easy to talk to
- Has excellent spoken English and communication skills
- Comfortable having a chat and building a genuine rapport
- Happy to have a bit of banter and not take themselves too seriously
- Patient, respectful and able to provide support without making things feel overly formal
- Reliable and consistent with their shifts

In providing support to people with intellectual/physical disabilities tasks will include:
- Personal care, including hygiene needs,




- Medication administration,
- Manual handling,
- Use of hoist, shower chair, wheelchair,
- Stoma bag care
- General domestic duties,
- Preparing meals,
- Driving residents to appointments, day programs and outings,
- Support with assistive technology, and
- Social support.

Essential requirements: For an applicant to be considered for the role, you must have the following:

· Certificate III in disability (or similar) or working towards,

· Great communication skills, both written and verbal,

· Excellent time management skills,

· A smart phone,

· Positive computer skills,

· A current First Aid Certificate issued within last 3 years,

· CPR certificate issued within last 12 months,

· A current FULL NSW driver's license, - Willingness to travel to different locations,

· 2 contactable references,

· Eligible to work in Australia.

· Must have a NDIS Worker Screening Check
