About the role

McGuire Hotels is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Casual Function Staff to join our team at our Calamvale Hotel location. This is a casual position offering flexible working arrangements to suit your lifestyle. As Function Staff, you will be integral to delivering exceptional service at our events, functions and gatherings. This role is perfect for individuals seeking to gain valuable hospitality experience whilst maintaining schedule flexibility. The position is based in Calamvale, QLD 4116.

Key responsibilities

- Providing attentive and professional table service to guests during functions and events
- Taking food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
- Delivering meals and drinks with care, ensuring correct items reach the right guests
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout service
- Setting and clearing tables in accordance with venue standards
- Responding promptly to guest requests and enquiries
- Supporting the function coordinator and kitchen staff to ensure smooth event operations
- Handling cash and card payments accurately when required
- Adhering to health and safety protocols and venue policies
- Contributing to a positive team environment and helping colleagues as needed

What we're looking for

- Previous experience in waiting, hospitality or customer service roles (preferred but not essential)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for guest service
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and carry trays safely
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings,



weekends and public holidays as required
- Reliability and punctuality
- A professional appearance and positive attitude
- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification or willingness to obtain it (may be required depending on venue operations)
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt to different event requirements
