About the Opportunity:

Brighter Horizons Occupational Therapy and Allied Health Services is expanding, and we are looking for a passionate and motivated Speech Pathologist to join our team on a casual or part-time basis.

This role offers more than simply seeing back-to-back clients. As we continue to grow our Speech Pathology services, you will have the opportunity to contribute ideas, develop therapy resources and programs, collaborate with Occupational Therapy, and help shape how our Speech Pathology services develop.

We are open to both experienced Speech Pathologists and early-career clinicians looking for a supportive and flexible role.

Our services are delivered within clients' natural environments wherever appropriate, including homes, schools, childcare centres and community settings.

About the Role:

As a Speech Pathologist with Brighter Horizons, you will be supported to develop and manage a caseload aligned, where possible, with your experience, availability and clinical interests.

Services may be provided across:

- Client homes
- Schools
- Childcare centres
- Community settings
- Telehealth, where clinically appropriate

Depending on your interests and availability, there may also be opportunities to contribute to Speech Pathology resource development, therapy programs, group programs and other clinical projects as the service grows.

Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities may include

- Conducting Speech Pathology assessments.
- Developing individualised therapy plans based on participant goals and assessment findings.
- Delivering evidence-based Speech Pathology intervention.
- Monitoring client progress and adjusting intervention as required.
- Completing high-quality clinical documentation, including progress notes, reports and therapy recommendations.
- Communicating with parents, carers, support coordinators, educators and other health professionals.
- Collaborating with Occupational Therapy and other members of a participant's support team.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records within the practice management system.
- Participating in case discussions and multidisciplinary collaboration where appropriate.




- Contributing to therapy resources, programs and service-development projects where applicable.
- Maintaining professional practice in accordance with Speech Pathology Australia standards, NDIS requirements and relevant legislation.

Client Groups: Our clients include children, adolescents and adults with a range of support needs.

Presentations may include:

- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Global Developmental Delay (GDD)
- Intellectual Disability
- ADHD
- Developmental Language Disorder
- Speech sound disorders
- Social communication difficulties
- Communication and functional participation difficulties
- AAC needs
- Feeding and swallowing needs, where within the clinician's scope and competency
- Neurological or acquired conditions, depending on clinician experience and competency

Caseload allocation will consider your experience, competency and clinical interests.

Essential Criteria:

To be considered for this position, you will require:

- A recognised tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology.
- Eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Current Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status, or eligibility to obtain this.
- Current Australian driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Current Working With Children Check.
- Current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to obtain these prior to commencement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisation and time-management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Commitment to evidence-based and person-centred practice.

Desirable: The following are desirable but not essential:

- Experience working with NDIS participants.
- Experience within paediatric and/or adult disability services.
- Experience completing Speech Pathology assessments and reports.
- Knowledge or experience with AAC.
- Experience with feeding or mealtime management.
- Experience providing therapy within schools and childcare settings.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary environment.

Remuneration: Competitive hourly employee rate based on qualifications and experience.
