Primary objective
Manage category, sourcing and contract activities for assigned NT Health portfolios, working with stakeholders and suppliers to deliver timely, compliant and value-for-Territory outcomes that support protected and sustainable health services.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Category planning: Maintain portfolio plans using spend, demand, market,
supplier and risk analysis to identify value-for-Territory,
service improvement, sustainability and local industry opportunities.
- Sourcing delivery: Manage procurement from requirements definition and market engagement through evaluation, negotiation,
approval, award and implementation.
- Contract management: Manage assigned contracts, monitoring obligations, performance, risks, issues and variations to support service continuity and quality.
- Stakeholder and supplier engagement: Clarify requirements, provide practical advice, support reviews, resolve issues and escalate material commercial or operational risks.
- Governance and documentation: Prepare clear, auditable records and apply legislation, delegations, probity, ethical standards, policy and approved processes.
- Project delivery and improvement: Lead defined projects, sourcing packages, evaluation panels and cross-functional groups, track benefits and use evidence to improve practice.
- Safety and culture: Model NT Health values and contribute to a safe, constructive and accountable workplace.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience delivering category management,
sourcing and contract activities in a complex service environment,
achieving timely, compliant and value-for-Territory outcomes.
- Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to translate spend, demand, market, supplier and risk data into practical plans and recommendations.
- Experience managing contracts across the lifecycle, including performance, risk, variations, renewals and transitions.
- Well-developed engagement and negotiation skills, including the ability to clarify requirements, influence decisions and resolve issues with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Sound knowledge of procurement governance, probity, risk and recordkeeping, including application of legislation, policy, delegations and approved processes.
- High-level communication skills, including preparing clear procurement and contract documentation, briefings and reports for varied audiences.
- Ability to lead defined projects, panels and cross-functional groups, manage competing priorities and use performance data to improve delivery.
Desirable
1. Relevant tertiary or vocational qualification in procurement, contract management, commercial law, business, project management or
a related discipline.
- Experience in health, government or another regulated service environment.
