Reef Seafood & Sushi Brisbane is looking for an experienced Chef to assist our Head Chef in running our fast-paced fish, chips and grill kitchen.

This is an important leadership-support role in a quality-first restaurant. You will help deliver consistently excellent seafood, grilled dishes and fried products while keeping the kitchen organised, efficient and clean through busy services.

Key responsibilities

- Assist the Head Chef with daily operation of the fish, chips and grill kitchen
- Cook seafood, grilled dishes, fried items and sides to strict recipes and presentation standards
- Deliver fast, consistent and high-quality food in a high-volume environment
- Follow recipe cards, portion controls, preparation guides and food-cost targets
- Assist with kitchen preparation, ordering, stock rotation and waste control
- Help train, guide and support junior kitchen staff
- Assist with staff management and maintaining service standards
- Contribute ideas for menu changes, seasonal specials, recipe development and costing
- Maintain solid food-safety, cleaning and workplace-safety standards

What we’re looking for





- Proven experience as a Chef in a busy restaurant, takeaway or seafood venue
- Confidence cooking fish, grilled products and fried food at volume
- Strong understanding of consistency, timing, portioning and presentation
- Experience following recipes and systems closely
- Knowledge of food costing, stock control and kitchen operations is highly regarded
- Leadership qualities and the ability to support and motivate a team
- A practical, calm and quality-driven approach under pressure
- Availability across evenings, weekends and public holidays
