We invite you to submit your application for the part-time position of Childcare Officer based at the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre. As a Childcare Officer, you will undertake a range of duties to assist in the delivery of the Outside School Hours Care programs, based on the developmental needs and interests of the children and within the National Quality Standards.

Benefits and Conditions

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government Officers’ (WA) Award 2021 and Recreation Centres Enterprise Agreement with a salary Level 3 $68,975 to $72,167 per annum pro-rata, depending on qualifications and experience.

- Superannuation of 12% occupational superannuation from date of commencement, with an prospect that the Shire will match an employee’s voluntary contribution to their nominated plan provided that employee contributes an amount of at least 5% or 6% of their own salary.
- Average hours of work will not exceed 38 hours per week on the following basis of 152 hours over 28 consecutive days.



Span of ordinary hours of work for this position are Monday to Sunday
- Four weeks pro-rata paid annual leave, including a 17.5% leave loading
- Free membership to the Leschenault Leisure Centre, the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre and the Dr Peter Topham Memorial Swimming Pool.
- A probationary period of three months is applicable to this position
- A medical examination and a current police clearance will be required prior to appointment, costs to be reimbursed by the Shire.
