We are seeking a Graduate Lawyer or early-career Legal Counsel with up to 2 years Post-Qualification Experience to join the SAGE Group legal team in Adelaide. Position Summary:

n

This is an opportunity to commence or develop your legal career in-house, working closely with SAGE Group's legal team and senior leaders across the business. You will gain broad commercial experience and exposure to significant projects and transactions across Australia.

n

In this role your work will primarily involve contract and corporate law, including:

n

n
- reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts;
n
- advising the business on contractual rights, obligations and risk;
n
- assisting with contract negotiations with customers, suppliers and subcontractors;
n
- providing advice on general commercial and corporate matters;
n
- assisting with contractual disputes and claims;
n
- undertaking legal research and preparing practical legal advice;
n
- supporting corporate governance and compliance matters; and
n
- working directly with project managers, engineers and senior management across SAGE Group.

The role provides substantial hands-on experience and responsibility from an early stage, with support and mentoring from experienced in-house lawyers.

Skills and Experience:

n

We are looking for someone who is intelligent,



commercially minded and, importantly, someone who will fit well within the SAGE team.

n

Ideally, you will have:

n

n
- recently completed, or be close to completing, a Bachelor of Laws or equivalent, or have up to 2 years' post-admission experience;
n
- solid academic results, particularly in Contract Law and other commercial law subjects;
n
- a genuine interest in contract and commercial law;
n
- strong written and verbal communication skills;
n
- good attention to detail and an ability to analyse complex contractual issues;
n
- a practical and commercially focused approach to legal problems; and
n
- a friendly, approachable personality and strong interpersonal skills.

Previous experience in a law firm, in-house legal team, clerkship, paralegal position or other legal role will be highly regarded but is not essential.
