About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Client Service Officer to support a specialist Risk Adviser within an established financial planning practice. This role is specifically focused on risk insurance, including life, total and permanent disability, trauma and income protection cover. You will work closely with the Adviser to manage the client journey from the initial advice process through to application, underwriting, policy implementation and ongoing servicing.

The successful candidate will understand that risk applications can be complex and highly personal. You will play an key role in keeping clients informed, managing insurers, and ensuring every application progresses efficiently and accurately.

Key responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive administrative and client service support to the Risk Adviser
- Act as a key point of contact for clients throughout the advice and implementation process
- Schedule client appointments and prepare relevant documentation ahead of meetings
- Follow up clients for outstanding information, identification, medical requirements and supporting documents
- Maintain regular communication with clients and ensure they are kept informed throughout the application and underwriting process
- Respond to client enquiries professionally, promptly and with empathy
- Prepare and lodge applications for life, TPD, trauma and income protection.
- Complete pre-assessments and liaise with insurers regarding potential underwriting outcomes




- Coordinate medical examinations, pathology testing, financial evidence and additional underwriting requirements
- Liaise directly with underwriters, insurers, medical providers and clients to progress applications

About you

- Previous experience in a Client Service Officer, Adviser Support or insurance administration role
- Experience supporting a Financial Adviser who provides risk advice
- Confidence communicating with clients, insurers, underwriters and medical providers
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple applications and competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive approach and the ability to follow matters through to completion
- Experience using financial planning software such as Xplan or a similar platform
- A sound understanding of financial advice compliance and client record-keeping requirements
