Role Description: This full-time or part time (hours negotiable) Practice Nurse role is an on-site position based in Canberra.

The Practice

Nurse will provide patient care, in areas of immunisations, baby check, IV Iron and other medicine administration, ear syringing, wound care and any other clinical duties in collaboration with the clinicians in the practice. They oversee Infection control measures to ensure that the practice adheres to the highest standard of Infection Control as set out by the RACGP S tandards.

The practice nurse also works collaboratively with clinicians, conducting Chronic Disease Management plans and Health Assessments which involves patient education on disease prevention, lifestyle modification,



and self-management, as well as coordination of care with physicians, allied health professionals, and community services. The Practice Nurse will contribute to clinical documentation, quality improvement activities, and a culture of safety and respect for all patients.

Qualifications:

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the appropriate regulatory body, and eligibility to practice in Canberra.
- Competent in patient education, health promotion, and holistic care planning focused on prevention and wellness.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to build trusted, long-term relationships with patients and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, while exercising autonomy and sound clinical judgment.
- Comfort with using electronic medical records and basic digital health tools.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous professional development, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.
- ​Competency in these areas will be an advantage and will be renumerated accordingly.
- ​If lacking in experience, but keen to learn and develop skills on the job is also welcomed and supported.
