What your day could look like
As a Clinical Nurse - Recovery, you'll make a real difference at a time when patients need confidence, expertise and reassurance most. You'll help people safely transition through recovery after surgery while contributing to a culture of learning, teamwork and clinical excellence. Working alongside skilled colleagues, you'll have opportunities to grow your leadership capability while supporting better outcomes for patients and the wider community.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Delivering expert recovery care that helps patients achieve secure and positive post-operative outcomes.
- Coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients receive the right support at the right time.
- Supporting and mentoring colleagues, helping build capability, confidence and a positive team culture.
- Driving improvements that enhance safety, patient experience and the quality of care delivered.
Let's talk about you! You're an experienced nurse who leads with compassion, acts with integrity and values the difference a connected team can make. You bring calm judgement, strong clinical expertise and a genuine commitment to helping people through important moments in their healthcare journey. You enjoy sharing knowledge, supporting others to grow and contributing to a workplace where dignity, innovation and courage are part of everyday practice.
Most of all, you're looking for more than a job. You're looking for a role where your expertise is valued, your development is supported and your contribution has lasting impact.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated experience in recovery, post-anaesthetic or perioperative nursing.
- Strong clinical decision-making and the ability to manage complex patient situations.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient-centred care.
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have postgraduate qualifications relevant to perioperative nursing and/or experience leading quality improvement, education or workforce development initiatives. Together, you'll help deliver safe, compassionate care while strengthening the health and wellbeing of the community.
