We're excited to welcome a Clinical Nurse (CN) to our Emergency Department Mental Health (EDMH) team at Gympie Hospital.

The CN's role is to lead and deliver person centred nursing care at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse Standards for Practice. The CN is expected to be able to practice autonomously and provide leadership in clinical decision making. They have the responsibility for professional leadership in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 and an prospect to work collaboratively to lead practice changes and clinical innovation.

The Gympie Hospital Emergency Department Mental Health team provide access to specialist mental health and addiction expertise 7 days a week between the hours of 07.00 am - 15.06 pm. The CN provides specialist intake assessment, consultation, education and support to Emergency Department staff when making decisions regarding interventions and management of mental health consumers.

This position requires you to adhere to National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and the Sunshine Coast Health Secure Care Framework, which has been developed in collaboration with staff, consumers and key stakeholders to enable our vision of health and wellbeing through person-centred care.

Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service Values.

Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces and manage all information in accordance with legislation, standards, policies, and procedures.

Remuneration value up to $97 953 p.a, comprising salary rates $57.76 - $61.85 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (NRG6.1) (Permanent Part-time, 53.2hrs p.f.).
