About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Manager - Public Health to join our team and play a key role in protecting and improving the health of our communities in the Midwest - Geraldton.
In this rewarding position, you will lead and coordinate regional screening and disease control programs, support the management of notifiable and infectious diseases, and contribute to outbreak prevention and response activities. You will also be instrumental in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of public health initiatives aimed at promoting, protecting, and improving the health and wellbeing of people living across the Midwest.

Suitability Criteria:

The suitability requirements below are derived from the
Form and define what will be assessed to determine your suitability for the role:
1. Current registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, supported by substantial experience in public health nursing.
2. Proven experience leading and delivering public health programs, including communicable and non-communicable disease prevention, control, and health promotion initiatives with the ability to manage competing priorities of your work area.
3. Demonstrated leadership, management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships across health, community and government sectors to influence outcomes and deliver value for your team and WACHS public health service.
4. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a sound understanding of relevant legislative, regulatory and workplace standards, including Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Work Health and Safety requirements.
5. Ability to lead and support your team through the use of clear and concise communication, positive and open mindset, setting, explaining and monitoring performance expectations, and fostering staff growth and development through coaching, feedback and ongoing learning opportunities.
