Bower Place (1986) is seeking a full time Clinical Psychologist to commence in October 2026.

Bower Place is a small service delivery, training, and knowledge development organisation with a significant electronic footprint.

Bower Place has expertise and extensive engagement with dispute resolution, engages in training delivery and has an online Knowledge Portal.

The Clinical Psychologist position is in the Complex Needs Clinic, a clinical teaching facility with a focus on Systemic Practice and Family Therapy with complex major mental health, addictions, family violence, education, child protection, disability, and criminal justice matters.

Bower Place has strong service delivery protocols. The Clinical Psychologist will be expected to work collaboratively in a clinical team and in line with Bower protocols and systemic approach.

Position Title: Clinical Psychologist (ANZSCO 272311)

Salary: $120,000 AUD per annum + Superannuation

Hours: Negotiated hours to fit with Bower Place national and international service delivery, training, & knowledge development requirements

& Core Responsibilities

Bower Place is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will consult with individuals and groups to investigate, assess, and treat complex mental health, emotional, and behavioral disorders.

Your primary tasks will closely align with ANZSCO 272311 standards and include:

- Assessment & Diagnosis: Collecting extensive clinical data about clients and conducting formal psychological assessments to evaluate their cognitive, behavioural, and emotional functioning.
- Testing: Administering, scoring, and interpreting diagnostic and predictive psychological tests to formulate precise treatment requirements.
- Treatment Planning: Developing, implementing, and modifying individualised,



evidence-based treatment plans and therapeutic programs tailored to client goals.
- Therapy Delivery: Administering specialized individual or group psychological treatment sessions using proven modalities.
- Multidisciplinary Consultation: Consulting closely with general practitioners, psychiatrists, and other medical personnel to coordinate treatment plans and ensure integrated patient care.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintaining timely, detailed, and highly accurate clinical notes and writing comprehensive psychological assessment reports.
- Research & Evaluation: Initiating or collaborating on relevant psychological research studies, program evaluations, or clinical statistics to enhance treatment outcomes.
- Methodology Adherence: Actively participate in internal professional development to master and apply the proprietary Bower Place Model across high-complexity case work.
- Systemic Approach: Utilise systemic integrative practice models to map out and treat psychological difficulties within complex client and family dynamics.

Mandatory Qualifications & Requirements To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

- Education: A minimum of a Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or an international equivalent recognized by the Australian Psychological Society / APS).
- Registration: Current General Registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA), along with a validated Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology.




- Clearances: DHS Working with Children, Child Safe Environments, and NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate.
- Skills: Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to maintain absolute data confidentiality in line with national ethical standards.

Preferred Training Expectations

- Theoretical Alignment: A strong foundation or highly regarded interest in Family Therapy and Systemic Practice
- Adaptability: A demonstrated capacity to embrace and practice alternative methodologies outside your formal postgraduate training. A preparedness to thoroughly engage with internal protocols and contribute to collective knowledge development.

Highly Regarded (Desirable Criteria) While not strictly mandatory, candidates who possess the following will be highly regarded:

- Linguistic Skills: Fluency in second language (such as Mandarin, Arabic, Spanish, Greek, other language)
- Medico - Legal Exposure: Practical experience or strong foundational knowledge in legal matters, such as preparing clinical reports for court proceedings, liaising with legal representatives, or navigating Family Law Court dynamics.

General and Technical Requirements

- Strong academic record, organisational & planning skills, and an ability to work to practice and administration timelines and KPI's
- Cognitive flexibility and an ability to work constructively with diverse people in the workplace and contribute to training and the generation of knowledge in this field.
- Solid ICT and other technology skills linked to contemporary service delivery.
- Strong verbal and written English language skills.
