Multiple Opportunities | 96 hours available (ongoing) (0.6 FTE x 2)

About the Role The Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Services Engage program was established in 2016 and aims to ensure that people who attend the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) Emergency Department (ED) in a vulnerable mental state have effective mental health follow up, regardless of the presenting problem or their residential location.

You will provide high-level clinical assessment, treatment and targeted brief interventions for consumers with complex mental health needs, working collaboratively with consumers, families and carers to support recovery and ongoing care.

Working alongside a highly committed Post Discharge team, you’ll have opportunities to develop your clinical expertise and career , with training, education and CPD supported by the RMH. Enjoy a Monday to Friday roster with balanced Saturday coverage , providing flexibility and work-life balance.

Key Accountabilities

Provide a high level of clinical expertise in the assessment,



treatment and delivery of targeted brief interventions to consumers with complex mental health related needs, where possible including family and carers in decisions

Ability to problem solve in a complex and changing environment.

Develop effective relationships with referrers and community public mental health services.

Work independently within a multidisciplinary team to support an efficient, effective and equitable response to referrals.

About You

Current AHPRA registration relevant to the position.

Strong clinical skills in mental health assessment, treatment and brief interventions.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Person-centred approach, with the ability to involve consumers, families and carers in care decisions.

Ability to work effectively in a complex and changing environment.

Commitment to delivering timely, equitable and high-quality mental health care.
