The Opportunity

DCT is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Investigational Product (IP) Assistant to join its clinical trial pharmacy team on a casual basis.

This is an excellent chance for individuals with an interest or experience in pharmacy, healthcare or clinical research to gain hands-on experience in a specialised clinical trial pharmacy environment and contribute to the delivery of innovative early phase research.

Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and weekends will be important.

The Role

Working under the supervision of our Clinical Trial Pharmacists, you will provide hands-on operational and logistical support for the management of Investigational Products (IP) used in early phase and human challenge studies.

From receiving and storing trial products through to preparation, documentation, reconciliation and study close-out, you will help ensure IP is managed safely, accurately and in accordance with study protocols and regulatory requirements. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential in this highly regulated environment, where quality, safety and compliance underpin all activities.

Your responsibilities will include

- Receiving, storing and maintaining accurate inventory records for Investigational Products.
- Supporting the preparation, labelling and dispensing of IP and non-IP materials under pharmacist supervision.
- Maintaining accurate pharmacy documentation, accountability records and temperature logs.




- Supporting trial set-up, reconciliation, returns and close-out activities.
- Assisting with day-to-day dispensary operations, including stock management, stock rotation and maintenance of dispensary work areas.
- Working closely with pharmacy, clinical and research teams to support the safe and timely delivery of clinical trials.

About You You will be organised, reliable and highly attentive to detail, with an interest in working within a regulated clinical research environment where accuracy, quality and safety are essential.

You will also bring

- Demonstrated interest or experience in a pharmacy, clinical or healthcare setting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate record-keeping.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- The ability to follow detailed procedures and work effectively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and variable shifts according to study requirements.

Desirable

- Certificate II or III in Community Pharmacy, Hospital Health Services or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a clinical trial pharmacy or similar regulated environment.
- Familiarity with GCP requirements.
- Understanding of pharmaceutical storage and handling requirements, including cold chain management.

Successful candidates will be required to work under pharmacist supervision, adhere to strict clinical trial protocols and quality requirements and complete GCP and pharmacy-specific training upon commencement.
