About the role

Metaltex Australia is seeking a skilled and reliable CNC Brake Press / Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team on a full-time, day shift basis. Based in Dandenong South VIC, this role is pivotal to our metal fabrication operations, where precision and attention to detail are paramount. You will be responsible for operating and CNC machines, including brake press and laser cutting equipment, to produce high-quality metal components that meet our clients' exacting specifications.

This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge manufacturing technology whilst contributing directly to the success of our production output.

Key responsibilities

- Operate CNC brake press and laser cutting machines in accordance with established operating procedures and safety protocols
- Set up machinery, including programming and adjusting machine parameters to achieve required specifications
- Monitor machine operation to ensure consistent quality and identify any issues or deviations from specifications
- Perform routine maintenance tasks and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to minimise downtime
- Inspect finished components for accuracy and quality, adhering to dimensional tolerances and finish requirements
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, material usage and any machine-related incidents or adjustments
- Follow all health and safety requirements, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and targets
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to appropriate personnel promptly

What we're looking for





- Proven experience operating CNC brake press and/or laser cutting machinery in a manufacturing workplace
- Demonstrable knowledge of CNC programming, machine setup and calibration procedures
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to read technical drawings and specifications accurately
- Proficiency in performing quality inspections and using measuring instruments such as calipers and gauges
- Proficiency in mathematics equations.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks whilst maintaining productivity
- Valuable communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a production team
- Reliability and punctuality, with a focus on meeting production deadlines
- Physical capability to perform the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods and handling materials
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in CNC machine operation are advantageous
