Kathmandu IT Services Pty Ltd is a newly established Australian ICT services company based in Auburn, NSW. We provide IT infrastructure, computer networking, systems administration and technical support services to small and medium-sized businesses across Sydney.

As our client base and service operations continue to develop, we are seeking a motivated and technically capable Computer Network and Systems Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis.

This is an opportunity for an experienced ICT professional to work across a variety of customer environments and contribute to the implementation, maintenance and support of reliable IT infrastructure.

About the Role

As a Computer Network and Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and supporting computer networks and IT systems for our business and clients.

The successful candidate will work on a range of infrastructure and technical support activities, including network deployment, system administration, troubleshooting, monitoring and customer technical support.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, configure and maintain LAN, WAN and wireless network infrastructure.
- Install, configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, access points and other network equipment.
- Monitor network performance, availability and security and resolve network-related issues.
- Configure and administer Windows Server and Microsoft-based environments.
- Manage Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID and related cloud services.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, group policies and access controls.
- Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, servers, printers and other IT equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network and connectivity problems.




- Assist with the implementation and migration of IT infrastructure for clients.
- Perform system updates, patching, backups and routine maintenance.
- Maintain network and system documentation, asset records and technical procedures.
- Implement appropriate cybersecurity and access-control practices.
- Liaise with clients to understand technical requirements and provide practical solutions.
- Assist with IT projects, infrastructure upgrades and technology deployments.
- Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate service and support records.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support when required.
- Work with external technology vendors and service providers where necessary.

Skills and Experience To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:

- A relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in computer networking and systems administration.
- Practical knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs and network troubleshooting.
- Experience configuring and supporting switches, routers, firewalls and wireless networks.
- Experience with Windows Server and Microsoft desktop environments.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID/Active Directory.
- Understanding of network security, backup systems and cybersecurity principles.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small technical team.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder-management skills.




- Ability to prioritise multiple technical issues and meet service requirements.

Desirable Skills

- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies.
- Knowledge of network monitoring and management tools.
- Experience with firewall administration and VPN technologies.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, Microsoft or CompTIA certifications.
- Experience providing managed IT services or technical support to business clients.

Working Hours Monday to Friday – Full-Time The successful applicant may occasionally be required to attend client sites within the Sydney metropolitan area and provide support outside standard business hours for scheduled maintenance or critical technical incidents.

Location

Auburn, NSW, with occasional travel to customer sites across the Sydney metropolitan area.
