About the role

We are busy, close-knit and growing. We are looking for our next Associate to Senior Associate to help us keep up.

The core of the role is corporate and commercial law, including M&A;, business transactions and commercial contracting. There is also an opportunity to work across property and other complementary areas depending on your experience and interests.

You will work directly with, and be mentored by, an experienced and highly regarded senior director, and taking meaningful carriage of client matters from the outset.

This role will suit a lawyer who wants to continue doing interesting, sophisticated commercial and transactional work but with greater autonomy, direct client contact and genuine flexibility around when and where they work.

Key responsibilities

- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts
- Assist with and run M&A; and business restructuring transactions, including asset and share sales
- Prepare practical commercial legal advice
- Managing client relationships and matters with an appropriate degree of autonomy
- Be involved in, and support property and leasing matters,



including commercial leasing, property conveyancing and PEXA settlements
- Get involved in ancillary areas such as employment, front end construction law and/or IP, depending on your interests

About you You will have at least 3 years' PAE and solid corporate and commercial experience. Most importantly, you will be commercially minded, meticulous, pragmatic and comfortable taking responsibility for your work while being part of a small collaborative team.

Robust M&A; and commercial-contract experience will be highly regarded, along with:

Essential — Corporate & Commercial

- Experience with the full lifecycle of an M&A; transaction (buy- and sell-side), asset and share sales
- Strong contract review, drafting and negotiation skills
- Confidence taking carriage of matters with a degree of autonomy, commensurate with Associate/Senior Associate level
- A strong academic record
- Excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude
- Comfort working closely within a small team
- A genuine interest in one or more ancillary areas, which include employment, construction or IP

Nice to Have — Property Background

- Experience across commercial conveyancing, including confidence working in PEXA
- Solid commercial leasing experience
