About the role The systems and services you improve support important interactions for customers, providers, employers and employees across NSW. This is an opportunity to lead the operational future of icare's enterprise data platform and help ensure data services consistently deliver value across the organisation. You'll play a key role connecting platform engineering with business outcomes, driving service reliability, platform adoption and continuous improvement. Working across technology and business teams, you'll influence how data products and services are delivered, supported and optimised while building a culture focused on service excellence, accountability and customer outcomes.
What you'll be working on
- Lead the delivery, reliability and continuous improvement of enterprise data services to ensure strong business and customer outcomes.
- Establish service management frameworks, operational standards and governance practices that improve service performance and transparency.
- Drive service improvement initiatives that increase automation, efficiency, platform adoption and value from data platform investments.
- Oversee the operation, support and optimisation of data platform services, ensuring high levels of availability, security, resilience and performance.
- Partner with engineering teams to successfully operationalise new platform capabilities and continuously enhance service outcomes.
- Build trusted relationships with business and technology stakeholders to define, measure and improve service performance.
- Develop and lead a high-performing team while embedding modern DataOps, service management and operational excellence practices.
What you'll bring
- Significant experience leading Data Operations, Platform Operations, Data Services or related technology functions within complex environments.
- Solid expertise in Snowflake, AWS and cloud-based data platforms, including operational management, monitoring, optimisation and service delivery.
- Experience implementing service management, operational governance, incident management and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Ability to translate business requirements into sustainable service models that deliver measurable operational outcomes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- A track record of leading technical specialists and building high-performing teams focused on service reliability and customer outcomes.
- Experience supporting analytics, automation, digital or AI-enabled initiatives through enterprise data platform services.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Management or a related discipline.
