Data Lead – Workday Data Strategy

Location: Sydney or Melbourne (Hybrid)

The Opportunity

Profusion Group is proud to be partnering with a leading superannuation fund, to find an experienced Data Lead for their Technology team.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of the data strategy underpinning a major enterprise Workday implementation — shaping the data architecture, migration approach and governance standards that will support the organisation's workforce, payroll and finance functions for years to come.

About the Role

You'll lead the design, migration and governance of data across the Workday ecosystem — partnering closely with Technology Platform Leads, Architecture, Information Security, external vendors and business stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, secure, and trusted.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and own the data architecture vision for Workday and its integration with the broader technology landscape
- Design logical and physical data models supporting HCM, Payroll, Finance, reporting and analytics (including Workday Prism and external BI platforms)
- Lead legacy data migration — mapping, transformation, ETL development and reconciliation
- Establish data standards,



validation rules and stewardship processes to protect data integrity and compliance
- Provide hands-on support for complex data mapping, validation and troubleshooting
- Embed risk and compliance practices aligned to enterprise frameworks
- Lead and develop a team of leaders and individual contributors across multiple capabilities

What Our Client Is Looking For
- Hands-on Workday experience highly advantageous — you'll lead the technical data stream
- 4+ years' experience in a similar data architecture or data leadership role
- Superannuation, wealth management or broader financial services experience a strong plus
- Deep technical knowledge of data systems, integration patterns and enterprise architecture
- Excellent analytical, documentation and stakeholder communication skills
- Proven ability to build and lead high-performing, diverse teams
