About the role
We are seeking a Day Program Coordinator to join Aspire Community Services on a casual basis. This position is based in Hampton Park, VIC 3976, and plays a vital role in coordinating and delivering engaging day programs for participants. As a Day Program Coordinator, you will be instrumental in creating meaningful, inclusive activities and experiences that promote social connection, wellbeing, and community participation.
This is a hands-on role that directly impacts the quality of life and day-to-day experiences of the people we support, making it essential to our service delivery.
What you'll be doing
- Planning, coordinating and delivering engaging day program activities tailored to the interests, abilities and goals of participants
- Supporting and supervising participants during activities, ensuring their safety, dignity and active engagement
- Building positive relationships with participants and understanding their individual needs, preferences and support requirements
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of participant attendance, activities and outcomes
- Liaising with participants' support workers, families and carers to share information and coordinate care
- Assisting with the setup, management and cleanup of activity spaces and resources
- Contributing to a welcoming, respectful and inclusive environment where all participants feel valued
- Identifying and addressing any safeguarding concerns and reporting these promptly to management
- Supporting the evaluation and improvement of day program offerings based on participant feedback
What we're looking for
- Experience working with aged persons or people with disabilities, ideally in a community services or support setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse groups
- A genuine passion for supporting people and promoting inclusion and community participation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to provide day-to-day guidance and direction to Support Workers attending the program.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on person-centred approaches
- Flexibility and adaptability in your approach to meeting participants' changing needs
- Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
- A current and valid driver's licence is desirable, as some activities may require transport
- Knowledge of disability support or aged care principles and practices is beneficial

Pay: From $37.95 per hour
