Deputy Electrical Manager – Utility Scale Solar - DIDO and FIFO considered Location: Muswellbrook
Salary: $150-180k + super, $20k car allowance, 10% site allowance ($203-239,600k package)
Roster: 10/4 (DIDO and FIFO considered for the role)
The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Deputy Electrical Manager to join a major utility-scale solar project. This is a senior leadership role overseeing electrical engineering, construction, installation, testing and commissioning activities across the project.
You will lead electrical engineers, supervisors, technicians and subcontractors, ensuring electrical works are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee electrical engineering and site activities across the project.
- Manage electrical installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Lead and support Electrical Engineers, Supervisors, Technicians and subcontractors.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, method statements and technical documentation.
- Coordinate electrical works with project teams, consultants, suppliers and other disciplines.
- Monitor programme, budgets, resources and overall electrical project delivery.
- Identify technical issues and drive practical solutions and corrective actions.
- Support procurement through technical review of electrical equipment and materials.
- Oversee quality inspections,
testing and project documentation.
- Prepare progress and technical reports for project leadership.
- Ensure strong HSE, quality and compliance standards across all electrical activities.
About You
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 7–12 years' experience across electrical engineering, construction or project delivery.
- 3–5+ years' experience in a supervisory or management position.
- Proven experience managing electrical installation, testing and commissioning.
- Experience across solar, renewable energy, infrastructure, industrial or major construction projects highly regarded.
- Solid technical understanding of electrical systems and engineering practices.
- Ability to interpret drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
- Strong leadership, planning, coordination and decision-making skills.
- Experience managing resources, contractors and project priorities.
- Strong understanding of HSE and quality requirements.
