About the Role

Optional Supports is looking for caring and reliable Disability Support Workers to join our team in Mackay.

This casual position offers flexible shifts and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people with disability. You will support participants to achieve their goals, build independence, access their community, and live the life they choose.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist participants with daily living activities, including personal care, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Support participants to attend appointments, community activities, and social outings.
- Encourage independence and assist participants to develop everyday life skills.
- Complete progress notes and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with participants, families, and team members.
- Provide support in a secure, respectful, and professional manner.
- Follow participant support plans, organisational policies, and NDIS requirements.
- Attend training and professional development as required.

About You You are a compassionate and dependable person who enjoys helping others and making a positive impact.

Requirements

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, flexible, and professional.




- Current Driver Licence and reliable vehicle.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or willingness to obtain.
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or willingness to obtain.
- Previous experience in disability support, aged care, or a similar role is desirable but not essential.
