Experienced Disability Support Worker – SIL

Location: Toowoomba / Highfields Region, QLD

Shifts: Morning, afternoon, evening, weekend & sleepover shifts

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to provide consistent, person-centred support in a shared SIL home in the Toowoomba / Highfields region.

You will support participants with varying mobility, communication and clinical needs while helping maintain a safe, respectful and comfortable home workplace.

About You

We are looking for Support Workers who:

- Have experience in SIL, complex in-home support or high-support disability services
- Have strong personal care and manual handling experience
- Are confident with hoists, transfers, continence care and medication support
- Can work independently while knowing when to escalate concerns
- Are proactive, observant and reliable
- Respect that the SIL is the participants’ home, including their privacy, dignity, routines and choices
- Communicate effectively with participants, families and healthcare professionals
- Complete accurate shift notes, progress notes, incident reports and handovers
- Can remain calm and supportive when participants are anxious, confused or unwell
- Are comfortable providing personal care to participants of different genders
- Can prepare home-cooked meals and maintain a clean, organised environment




- Work well with other Support Workers, including during 2:1 support and transfers
- Can confidently follow individual support, medication, mealtime and clinical plans

Essential Requirements
- Certificate III or higher in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, Community Services or related qualification preferred
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance where participant transport is required
- Right to work in Australia
- Medication administration competency or willingness to complete assessment
- Manual Handling Certificate
- Infection Control Certificate
- Willingness to complete participant-specific training before working independently
- Availability across a combination of morning, afternoon, evening, weekend and sleepover shifts
