About the role

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who has experience in the metalwork, structural steel, aluminium or architectural fabrication industry and is confident reading construction drawings, completing take-offs, preparing quotations and producing shop drawings.

Key responsibilities

- Review architectural, structural and construction drawings

- Read and interpret plans, specifications and project documentation

- Measure and complete accurate material take-offs

- Prepare detailed quotations for upcoming projects

- Calculate material quantities, labour requirements and fabrication costs

- Request and review supplier pricing where required

- Prepare pricing for variations and additional works

- Assist with tender submissions

- Follow up quotations and liaise with builders and clients

- Prepare detailed shop drawings and fabrication drawings

About you





- Previous experience in metalwork estimating and/or drafting

- Robust ability to read architectural and structural drawings

- Experience completing measurements and quantity take-offs

- Experience preparing quotations and tender pricing

- Understanding of steel and aluminium fabrication

- Good knowledge of material and labour requirements

- AutoCAD drafting experience

- Strong numerical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent attention to detail

- Good communication and organisational skills
