About the Role

Yappera Children’s Service Cooperative is seeking a caring, reliable and experienced Child Care Worker to join our team on a full-time basis.

The successful applicant will provide day-to-day care and supervision for young children, support their wellbeing and development, and assist with age-appropriate activities in a safe, inclusive and nurturing childcare environment.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working directly with children, works well as part of a team and is seeking a stable position with a genuine long-term commitment to the service, children and families.

Key Responsibilities The successful applicant will be responsible for:

- Providing attentive day-to-day care and supervision to children throughout the childcare program.
- Supporting children during daily routines, including meals, rest periods, toileting, transitions and personal care.
- Organising and participating in age-appropriate play, learning and recreational activities that encourage children's development and engagement.
- Preparing activity areas, educational materials, toys and equipment for children's indoor and outdoor experiences.
- Supervising children during indoor and outdoor play and ensuring they remain safe and appropriately supported.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping children develop appropriate social skills, independence and respectful relationships with others.
- Engaging children through activities such as reading, storytelling, creative play, games, music, movement and group activities.
- Supporting children's physical, emotional, social, cognitive and communication development through everyday interactions and experiences.
- Monitoring children's wellbeing, behaviour and developmental progress and recording relevant observations as required by the service.
- Maintaining appropriate standards of children's hygiene, health and personal care and responding appropriately to individual needs.
- Maintaining clean, secure and organised play,



learning and care environments in accordance with health and safety requirements.
- Building positive and respectful relationships with children and responding sensitively to their individual backgrounds, abilities and needs.
- Communicating appropriately with parents and families regarding children's daily routines, participation, wellbeing and general progress.
- Working cooperatively with other educators, room leaders and service staff to provide consistent care and support for children.
- Following the service's policies and procedures, child safety requirements and applicable early childhood education and care regulations and standards.

Applicants must have:
- A minimum Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or a relevant equivalent qualification.
- At least 1–2 years of relevant full-time work experience in childcare, early childhood education and care, or a closely related setting.
- A sound understanding of the care and developmental needs of young children.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively and cooperatively as part of a team.
- An understanding of child safety, health, hygiene and wellbeing requirements.
- A current Working with Children Check and any other mandatory clearances required for the position.

Pay: $37.95 – $40.48 per hour
