About Mighty Kidz
Mighty Kidz is a family-owned early learning service in the Sutherland Shire. We run a play-based program guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, and we work closely with families so that what happens at the centre carries on at home. Our team is small enough that everyone knows the children by name.
About the role
We are looking for a degree-qualified Early Childhood Teacher to lead the educational program for children aged 0 to 5 years at our Gymea Bay centre. You will design and document the curriculum, assess and record each child's learning, and guide the educators in your room in putting the program into practice.
You will report to the Centre Director and work alongside our room educators. We expect you to take the lead on programming, planning and family communication for your group.

- A Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or another ACECQA-approved early childhood teaching qualification.
- Accreditation as a teacher with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), or eligibility to obtain it before commencement.
- A current NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment.
- A current First Aid certificate approved by ACECQA (HLTAID012 or equivalent), including CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma management.
- At least one years of experience teaching in an early childhood education and care setting, with a working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standard.
- Demonstrated experience writing and documenting an educational program, including individual learning plans and observations.
- The right to work in Australia.
Desirable
- Experience preparing a service for, or working through, an Assessment and Rating visit.
- Experience mentoring educators or supervising students on practical placement.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and document an educational program for children aged 0 to 5 years, using indoor and outdoor learning spaces.
- Run activities that build physical coordination, language, social skills and early numeracy.
- Support language development through storytelling, imaginative play, music, rhymes and conversation, one to one and in groups.
- Observe and record each child's progress, and notice early signs of developmental, health or emotional concerns.
- Assess nutritional, wellbeing and safety needs, and raise anything that may affect a child's learning with the Director and the family.
- Report on children's learning and milestones to families, in writing and in person.
- Take part in parent meetings, room team meetings and centre staff meetings.
- Contribute to community and family support programs the centre runs or takes part in.
- Guide and mentor educators and trainee educators on placement in the room.
- Work within the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and support the centre's Quality Improvement Plan.
What we offer
- A salary reviewed annually, paid in line with the Educational Services (Teachers) Award classification for the role.
- Paid programming time away from the floor each week.
- Funded career development, including external training and conference attendance.
- Support towards NESA accreditation and maintenance of proficient teacher status.
- Access to an employee assistance program.
How to apply Apply through this listing with your resume and a short cover letter setting out your qualification, your NESA accreditation status and your experience programming for the age group.
