Source: uWorkin Alpha HPA is seeking a E&I; Technician to join its Gladstone team. This is a rare opportunity to contribute across both construction and operations phases of a major greenfield project.

We are looking for an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician with experience in green field project, commissioning and operational maintenance. In this hands-on role, you'll help maintain the reliability, safety, and performance of plant equipment by delivering electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities. Working with a skilled maintenance team, you'll support planned maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and help maximise plant availability and efficiency.

This role is a Monday to Friday role working 38hrs per week.

Key responsibilities

- Ensuring plant, equipment repairs, modifications and monitoring occur within health and safety guidelines.
- Investigating, analysing and determining root causes of Electrical & Instrumentation plant failures.
- Coordinating and communicating with Planners, Mechanical Technicians, Electrical Engineers and Operations to complete and resolve both planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
- Participating in pre-shut-down work scoping and shut-down facilitation execution.
- Providing direction and control of breakdown work to ensure maximum output.
- Conducting maintenance tasks within a rigid planning and clearance to work system.
- Ensuring maintenance budget expenditure is targeted to the right plant and equipment to obtain maximum value.
- Planning maintenance tasks using the TAG system.

This breakthrough process produces a growing range of ultra-high purity aluminium materials - oxides, hydroxides and nitrates - used across advanced industries such as LED lighting, synthetic sapphire, semiconductors and lithium-ion batteries.

Alpha HPA's materials deliver market-leading purity levels with a significantly lower carbon profile. The Stage One HPA First Project in Gladstone is already in production - the first commercial application of Alpha HPA's proprietary Smart SXTM process, producing >99.99% pure aluminium products.

Construction of the large-scale Stage Two facility is underway, with full-scale production targeted for mid-2027. Once operational, Alpha HPA will produce 10,000 tonnes of HPA equivalent per year, right here in Gladstone.

About The Candidate You'll bring:

- Dual trade qualification in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I;) or equivalent experience.
- Experience in heavy industry or continuous manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of DCS, PLC, SIS, motor control, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve root causes.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work closely with operations and engineering teams.
- Experience with maintenance management systems, with a commitment to continuous learning and development.
