About the Role
Qvest Australia is seeking a Casual Engineer (ICT & AV Systems) to join our Sydney team. You'll support the delivery of professional audio/visual, broadcast and ICT projects — from configuration and testing to in office installation and commissioning. This casual role offers adaptable working hours and hands-on technical experience in a dynamic project environment. It may suit candidates currently studying, freelancing, or seeking project-based work.

Your Tasks
· Configure, test, and commission professional AV, broadcast, and ICT systems. · Collaborate with project, support, logistics, and drafting teams throughout the project lifecycle.
· Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing efficient client support.
· Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.
· Assist with rack building, cabling, and installation.
· Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and process improvement.
· Hours and specific tasks will vary depending on project requirements.
Your Skills
· Degree or equivalent experience in IT, Networking, Audio/Visual, or related field (students welcome). · Experience or strong interest in ICT networking (switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls) and AV integration (e.g., Dante, AES67, ST2110).
· Some hands-on experience in ICT networking or AV integration is required as a minimum.
· Experience with server and storage systems,
and familiarity with virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V, XCP-ng) as well as databases (SQL, MariaDB) is desirable.
· Experience in hardware installation, electronic engineering and basic mechanical engineering would be a bonus.
· Solid problem-solving ability and great communication skills.
· Well-organised, detail-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team.
· A fast learner with curiosity and willingness to take on new challenges.
