The Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers (DLGWV) is seeking expressions of interest from current Queensland Public Service employees for a fixed term temporary prospect as Chief Financial Officer from 5 October 2026 to 28 October 2026.

Reporting to the Deputy Director-General, Corporate Services, the CFO provides strategic financial leadership to the department, leading finance, budget management, procurement and accommodation functions while delivering high-level financial advice to the Director-General and Executive Leadership Team.

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO)



role is accountable for the leadership and delivery of all strategic and operational financial activities of the department. This role works closely with the Director-General and Executive management across the department to provide strategic financial advice.

This position reports to the Deputy Director-General Corporate Services and leads a team of over 30 professionals to deliver all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to finance and budget management, procurement and accommodation.

This opportunity is available only to current Queensland Public Service employees.
