About the role

Aike Cabinets is seeking an Estimating & Draftperson Officer to join our growing team in Oakleigh South, Victoria. This is a full-time and part-time position based at our headquarters, where you will play a crucial role in transforming client specifications into accurate estimates and detailed technical drawings. This role is integral to our project delivery process, ensuring that every project begins with precision and clarity, ultimately contributing to the successful completion of our cabinet and construction projects.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare detailed estimates and quotations for cabinet construction and bespoke joinery projects, ensuring accuracy and competitive pricing
- Create comprehensive technical drawings and specifications using industry-standard CAD software
- Liaise with clients to understand project requirements, specifications and design preferences
- Review project briefs and architectural plans to determine material quantities and labour requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation of all estimates, drawings and project specifications
- Collaborate with production and site teams to ensure designs are constructible and meet quality standards
- Prepare bills of materials and cost breakdowns for project planning and procurement
- Manage revisions and modifications to estimates and drawings as required by clients or internal teams

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in estimating within the construction, cabinetry or joinery industry
- Proficiency in CAD software for producing technical drawings and specifications
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent understanding of construction materials, costs and labour requirements




- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and technical specifications
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, designers and production teams
- Skilled qualifications in estimating, drafting or construction management (preferred)
- Experience with specialist cabinet or joinery estimation software (advantageous)
- Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A commitment to accuracy and quality in all aspects of work
- Fluent in English and Chinese is highly preferred.
