Estimator – Commercial Playgrounds & Landscaping
Miracle Recreation Equipment | Wangara, WA
Full time | Playground & Recreation Industry
About Miracle Recreation Equipment
Miracle Recreation Equipment is a Western Australian company specialising in the design, manufacture, supply, installation and maintenance of commercial playgrounds, recreation equipment and associated infrastructure.
Operating from our Wangara facility, we work across local government, schools, landscape architects, developers, commercial builders and other major clients throughout Western Australia.
As our playground division continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Estimator to take ownership of estimating, pricing and tender submissions across our commercial playground and landscaping projects.
The Role
This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys getting involved in the complete tender process – from reviewing drawings and specifications through to supplier negotiations, quantity take-offs, pricing, tender submission and assisting the team once a project is awarded.
A major focus of the position will be Local Government tenders and commercial playground projects, ensuring our submissions are competitive, accurate, compliant and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the estimating, pricing and tendering process for commercial playground and associated landscaping projects.
- Review Local Government tenders, RFQs, RFTs, construction drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
- Complete accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates covering materials, equipment, labour, subcontractors, installation and associated works.
- Prepare detailed pricing schedules, BOQs and tender documentation.
- Research the market and negotiate directly with suppliers, subcontractors and trades to secure competitive pricing.
- Source and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Identify tender risks, exclusions, opportunities and potential cost savings.
- Ensure all fixed tender deadlines and submission requirements are met.
- Assist our design team with project layouts, specifications and practical design considerations.
- Assist with as-constructed drawings and project documentation when required.
- Liaise directly with clients, councils, landscape architects, builders and other project stakeholders.
- Provide client consultation and assist with developing practical, cost-effective project solutions.
- Work closely with our installation and project teams to resolve site issues and ensure estimating remains aligned with real-world installation requirements.
- Review completed projects and actual costs to continuously improve estimating accuracy and future tender pricing.
- Maintain accurate estimating records, supplier pricing and project cost information.
About You We are looking for someone who is commercially switched-on, organised and comfortable taking ownership of a tender from start to finish.
Ideally, you will have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Estimating or Quantity Surveying
- Commercial landscaping
- Playground or recreation projects
- Civil or commercial construction
- Local Government projects and tenders
- Landscape construction
- External works and public open-space projects
You will also have:
- Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.
- Experience completing quantity take-offs and preparing detailed estimates.
- Strong Excel and general computer skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
- Good supplier and subcontractor negotiation skills.
- Strong written communication and tender preparation skills.
- The ability to manage multiple tenders and work confidently to fixed deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with clients, councils, suppliers and trades.
- A practical understanding of how projects are actually delivered on site.
Experience with Local Government tender platforms and commercial tendering systems would be highly regarded. CAD or drafting experience would also be advantageous, particularly the ability to assist with drawings and as-constructed documentation, although this is not essential.
Why Join Miracle?
This isn't an estimating role where you'll spend every day simply measuring drawings and entering numbers into a spreadsheet.
You'll have the opportunity to become an important part of our playground division, working across projects from the initial concept and tender stage through to manufacture and installation.
You'll work directly with our management, design, manufacturing and installation teams and have genuine input into how projects are designed, priced and delivered.
We offer
- A stable, full-time position with a growing WA business.
- Diverse commercial and Local Government projects.
- Direct involvement in projects from tender through to completion.
- A supportive and practical team environment.
- The chance to build strong relationships with councils, landscape architects, contractors and suppliers.
- Competitive remuneration negotiable based on experience.
Apply If you have experience in estimating, quantity surveying, landscaping or commercial construction and are looking for a role where you can take ownership of projects and become a key part of a growing division, we'd like to hear from you.
Please apply through Indeed with your CV and a brief introduction outlining your relevant estimating and tendering experience.
