SOCO Event Hire is where unforgettable events begin. We’re looking for an experienced, relationship-driven and commercially minded Events Partnerships Coordinator to help grow our network of event partners and recurring clients across Sydney, the South Coast and Southern Highlands.
This is not an entry-level events role. We’re looking for someone who already knows the events industry and brings hands-on event experience. You understand how events come together, how agencies, planners, venues and suppliers work together, and what it takes to deliver when timelines are tight and expectations are high.
Experience within event hire would be a huge bonus, but it’s not essential. What is essential is that you can step into conversations with experienced event professionals and confidently speak their language.
You’ll build and nurture relationships across corporate event and experiential agencies, event producers, wedding planners and stylists, venues and other creative industry partners with the goal of turning great relationships into long-term, recurring work for SOCO.
One day you might be meeting with an event agency to understand their upcoming calendar, the next visiting a venue or planner, preparing a proposal for a new partnership, or being onsite at an important client event.
This is a proactive, outward-facing role for someone who genuinely loves events, people and creating commercial opportunities – not someone who wants to sit back and wait for enquiries to land.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
Here’s what your week might include:
- Building relationships with corporate event agencies, experiential agencies, event producers, wedding planners, stylists, venues and other industry partners to generate recurring work.
- Proactively identifying and approaching new partnership opportunities across our target markets.
- Meeting with existing partners to understand their upcoming events, strengthen relationships and identify ways SOCO can better support them.
- Managing warm leads and new prospects through consistent outreach, follow-up and relationship building.
- Taking ownership of key partner accounts and becoming a trusted point of contact within SOCO.
- Creating proposals, quotes, presentations and pitch decks that help clients picture what’s possible.
- Working with clients on furniture selections, layouts and event requirements, confidently recommending solutions based on their brief.
- Attending networking events, venue open days,
industry exhibitions and partner events to keep SOCO visible and connected.
- Maintaining an organised CRM and active sales pipeline so opportunities and follow-ups never fall through the cracks.
- Supporting key client events onsite where needed, strengthening relationships and ensuring a great SOCO experience from enquiry through to delivery.
- Identifying upsell, cross-sell, collaboration and partnership opportunities that create value for both SOCO and our clients.
- Sharing industry insights, client feedback and emerging opportunities with the wider team.
- Working closely with sales, creative, operations, marketing and purchasing to deliver a seamless client experience.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
First and foremost, you need to know events. We are looking for someone with previous experience working within the events industry who understands the pace, terminology, moving parts and realities of delivering events.
You may have worked for an event agency, event hire company, venue, event production business, styling company, wedding planning business or similar – but you should be able to demonstrate strong, practical event experience.
Essential experience includes:
- Extensive events industry experience – you already understand event planning and delivery.
- Strong relationship management, partnerships, business development or sales capability, with the confidence to proactively generate new opportunities.
- Experience working directly with clients, suppliers, venues and other event professionals.
- A strong understanding of event briefs, timelines, logistics, bump-in/bump-out and the pressures involved in live event delivery.
- Confidence preparing quotes, proposals, presentations and client recommendations.
- The ability to build genuine relationships while also being commercially minded and comfortable having relationship building sales conversations.
- Robust organisation and follow-through – you're someone who keeps on top of conversations, commitments and next steps.
- Confidence using CRM and business systems to manage contacts,
opportunities and pipelines.
- A valid driver's licence for partner meetings, venue visits and onsite event support.
Big bonus points for:
- Previous experience in event or furniture hire.
- Existing relationships within the Sydney, South Coast or Southern Highlands events industry.
- Experience working with corporate event agencies, experiential agencies or event producers.
- Experience working with wedding planners, stylists or venues.
- A strong eye for furniture, styling, design or spatial planning.
YOU'LL LOVE THIS ROLE IF...
You’re someone who naturally builds relationships but also knows how to turn those relationships into opportunities. You’re comfortable walking into a room of experienced event professionals and starting a conversation. You notice opportunities, follow things up, remember what matters to people and genuinely enjoy becoming a trusted partner to your clients.
You also understand that events can move fast. Plans change, deadlines tighten and occasionally you need to jump in and help get something across the line.
Most importantly, you already know and love the events world and are ready to use that experience to build relationships.
PERKS OF THE ROLE
- Great locations – work across incredible venues and events rather than spending every day behind a desk.
- A genuinely good team – supportive people, a strong culture and plenty of laughs.
- Growth + progression – opportunities to take on greater responsibility and develop within a growing business.
- Smooth, organised systems – tools and processes designed to keep work flowing rather than create chaos.
- Rewards + recognition – team incentives for achieving goals plus recognition awards.
- Development – annual training budget.
If you’re an experienced events professional who loves people, thrives on building relationships and gets excited by the idea of turning connections into long-term partnerships, we’d love to hear from you. Ready to be part of something epic?
Apply now by submitting your application (with a cover letter!) or reach out to Erin at

If your energy matches ours, we’ll be in touch to talk about next steps.
