As the Executive Services Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the executive team by managing administrative responsibilities, coordinating events and meetings and facilitating effective communication.

This position requires exceptional organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. You will be a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

This is a temporary full-time position until 20 January 2027, unless otherwise determined.

About the School:

Queensland Education and Training Centre (QETC) is a Department of Education school operating within Brisbane's Youth Detention Centres at Wacol. The school plays an significant role in the community by providing young people in detention with the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills, and values that can enhance their capacity to pursue positive choices in the future. Our staff are passionate about helping improve the knowledge, skills and abilities of our students, many of whom have had disrupted or negative experiences of schooling and often have lived through complex trauma and disadvantage.

We aim to provide the best education possible to all students so that they may become active and resilient citizens of the future.

About the Role:

You will have responsibility for, but not limited to:





- Maintain effective time management practices for the Executive Principal and Heads of Campus including coordinating diary appointments, prioritising correspondence, preventing unnecessary interruptions and screening telephone calls.
- Develop and manage the provision of administrative support to school operations in accordance with school guidelines developed in consultation with external sources. It involves identifying problems, conducting research, seeking expert advice (where necessary) and recommending solutions.
- Arrange appointments, meetings and conferences, including venues, travel arrangements and accommodation and exercise assigned financial, purchasing and administrative authorities.
- Maintain high accuracy in all correspondence and administrative documents, using appropriate software programs and adhering to departmental standards, including style guides, templates and other corporate standards.
