About the role

Pro ex equipment hire pty ltd is seeking an Experienced Excavator Operator to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Wollongong, NSW 2500, this role is pivotal to our construction operations, delivering precision machinery expertise and maintaining the highest safety and efficiency standards on site. As an essential member of our plant and machinery operations team, you will be responsible for operating heavy excavation equipment safely and effectively, supporting the successful completion of various construction projects.

What you'll be doing

- Operating excavators and related heavy machinery to specifications on construction sites
- Conducting pre-operation inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure safe working condition
- Manoeuvring machinery with precision to complete excavation, trenching, and material handling tasks
- Following site safety protocols, risk assessments and industry regulations at all times
- Communicating effectively with site supervisors, contractors and team members regarding project requirements and progress
- Clearing and preparing sites for construction activities as directed
- Maintaining accurate records of equipment usage, hours worked and any damage or defects
- Adhering to environmental regulations and waste management procedures on site

What we're looking for

- Current Excavator Operator or equivalent plant and machinery operating licence recognised in NSW
- Minimum 3+ years of proven experience operating excavators on construction sites
- Comprehensive knowledge of excavator safety procedures and site compliance requirements




- Robust spatial awareness and precision in operating heavy machinery
- Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities
- Physical fitness and ability to work in varying weather conditions
- A reliable and punctual work ethic with a commitment to safety standards
- Experience with different excavator models and attachments (preferred)
- Valid driver's licence (preferred)
