Role Overview

Trinity Stairs is seeking an experienced Staircase Installer to install builder-range prefabricated timber staircases on residential construction sites throughout Melbourne.

This is an installation-only contracting position. No workshop manufacturing or joinery work is involved.

Contractors must have proven staircase installation experience and be capable of installing a minimum of two standard staircases per day under normal, installation-ready site conditions. Applicants without direct staircase installation experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Install prefabricated builder-range staircases accurately and efficiently.
- Inspect stair openings, floor levels and site conditions before commencing installation.
- Read and interpret staircase drawings and installation details.
- Complete necessary minor on-site adjustments.
- Ensure staircases are correctly positioned, level, securely fixed and ready for following trades.
- Identify and promptly report site conditions that may affect installation.
- Coordinate professionally with builders, site supervisors and other trades.
- Keep the work area clean and safe.
- Comply with all applicable WHS requirements and site safety procedures.
- Represent Trinity Stairs professionally on every project.

Essential Requirements

- Proven experience installing prefabricated timber staircases.




- Demonstrated ability to consistently install at least two standard staircases per day under normal site conditions.
- Active ABN and eligibility to work as an independent contractor.
- Own reliable vehicle suitable for travelling to construction sites and transporting tools.
- Own complete set of tools and equipment required for staircase installation.
- Valid Australian driver’s licence.
- Current Construction White Card.
- Appropriate insurance for undertaking subcontract installation work.
- Strong knowledge of staircase installation methods, fixings and tolerances.
- Ability to read and interpret staircase and construction drawings.
- Ability to assess site conditions and resolve installation issues independently.
- High standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual and capable of managing allocated work efficiently.

Contractor Allowances The contractor must provide and maintain their own vehicle, tools and equipment. Trinity Stairs will pay a daily vehicle and tool allowance, in addition to the agreed installation payment, for each approved working day.

Desirable

- Trade qualification in Carpentry or Joinery.
- Experience working on volume-builder residential projects.
- Experience installing multiple staircases across different sites within one working day.

Important This prospect is suitable only for experienced staircase installers. General carpentry or cabinetmaking experience without direct staircase installation experience will not be sufficient.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00 – $65.00 per hour
